Aetherwinds SMP — a modded world built for freedom, not an endgame
The skies are open, and the world is yours to shape. Aetherwinds is a long-term, player-driven modded SMP built around kingdoms, trade, exploration, and emergent storytelling — not a progression race with a finish line.
The world:
At the center sits Aldenmere, a neutral capital where players trade, run shops, and build the server's actual economy. Beyond it, everything is open — found a kingdom, build infrastructure, or vanish into the wilds and start something new. The further you go from the capital, the harsher it gets, so joining or founding a town is more than a suggestion out there.
And when diplomacy fails, it actually fails — full-scale war mechanics exist for kingdoms that want to settle things the hard way. Sieges, standing armies, and grudges that outlast a single raid.
Not everyone has to play nice.
Aldenmere runs on trade, and where there's trade, there's always a shadier corner of it. Slot machines and back-alley gambling dens, a black market economy that doesn't ask questions, and... let's just say not every substance changing hands is legal. If you'd rather build an empire than a moral compass, there's room for that here too.

Not everyone needs a war room or a smuggling route. Run a kitchen and actually cook, Farmer's Delight and its expansions turn food into a real system, not a hunger bar chore. Plant a quiet farm outside town, fill it with sheep and chickens, and never think about a boss fight again. With how many furniture and decoration mods are packed in (Another Furniture, Handcrafted, Refurbished Furniture, MCW's furniture/doors/windows/roofs, Supplementaries, and more) you can build a genuinely cozy home instead of a base, one with actual character. Fish, paint, play an instrument, hang out on voice chat. Aetherwinds has teeth if you want them, but it doesn't require them.

The world rules:
No resets on the main overworld. Resource worlds reset regularly for a fresh grind. Claims are protected and PvP is regulated, not a free-for-all.
Server is 16+. RP welcome, not required. Room for warlords, smugglers, chefs, and quiet farmers alike, everyone's playstyle feeds the same shared world.
